Lotus Pond has large lotus flowers and round pads in butter yellow and grass green floating on an ivory ground, drawn loosely as if painted with a wide brush. The flowers are tufted in bamboo silk, which gives them a soft sheen against the matt wool around them, so they seem to catch the light like petals on water. It is a light, fresh rug for a bedroom, a sunny living room or an entrance hall. It comes in 4 × 6 and 5 × 8 ft and as an 8 ft round, a shape that suits the circular pads of the design especially well.
Tufted in Bhadohi. Bamboo silk is a viscose fibre made from bamboo pulp: it takes dye well and adds shine at a fraction of the price of real silk, which is why tufting workshops use it for highlights. The flowers are tufted first, then the wool ground is filled in around them.

Crafted by the weavers of Bhadohi
Bhadohi and neighbouring Mirzapur, on the Ganges plain between Varanasi and Prayagraj, form India's largest hand-knotting region, and the Bhadohi hand-made carpet carries a geographical indication. Most rugs are knotted in weaving families' homes on upright looms, then brought to town to be washed, clipped and finished.
