We measured twice and still worried the medallion would sit off centre under the sofa. It does not. The wine red reads darker in our north-facing room than it did on screen, which we prefer. It came rolled in cotton on the fifth day and lay flat over a weekend under a stack of books.

Bought for a draughty Victorian sitting room and the floor is now warm enough to sit on. The gold has a faded, almost sun-bleached quality that works with grey walls. Duty was collected by the courier exactly as the payments page said it would be, so nothing came as a surprise. Eleven days door to door.
