What the weave is, what it's made of and where it came from.
Flat-woven
Woven flat on a loom: no pile, and reversible, so it can be turned over to spread the wear.
Terracotta Halo Round is a round flatweave in terracotta, stone grey and charcoal, with concentric rings like the halo of a low sun. It is woven in cotton, lies flat and is easy to clean, and the earthy colours hide everyday marks well. The rings give a room a calm centre, which suits the space under a round table, in front of a fireplace or in a square entrance hall. It works in a living room or a bedroom too. It comes in 6 and 8 ft diameters.
Woven near Jaipur on a round frame, starting from the centre and working outwards. Each colour is woven in its own band, and the weaver adds warp threads as the circle grows so the rug stays flat to the edge rather than cupping, which is the hardest part of making a round flatweave.

Jaipur has made rugs since the nineteenth century, when carpet workshops were set up in the city's jail. The villages around it now knot heavy village designs and weave cotton dhurries on pit looms, and the town's dyers and finishing yards give rugs their strong colours or their softened, washed look.
