Saffron Braided Round is a round cotton rug in saffron yellow and cream, braided and coiled into a flat spiral with a soft, cushioned feel. The cream running through each braid keeps the yellow sunny rather than strong. It is light, easy to move and small sizes can be hand washed. It brings colour to a bedroom, a kitchen, a child's room or an entrance, and the 8 ft size can sit under a round breakfast table. It comes in 4, 6 and 8 ft diameters.
Made in Panipat. Each braid is plaited by hand from strips of dyed cotton, with cream and saffron alternating in every plait, then coiled from the centre outwards and stitched into a round. The stitching runs between the braids, so it is hidden when the rug is on the floor.

Crafted by the weavers of Panipat
Panipat, north of Delhi, has been a weaving town for generations. Its workshops dye yarn in the town, weave flat rugs and dhurries on wide handlooms, and braid jute and cotton into round rugs by hand, alongside the town's large textile-recycling trade.
