Monsoon Waves is made of rope-like spirals and swirls in moss green and magenta on a cream ground, tufted in thick loops and cut pile side by side. The texture is the design: the raised coils catch the light like rain striking water, and the colours stay soft against the cream. It is a playful rug for a living room, a bedroom or a dining room with plain furniture, and it hides crumbs better than a flat solid. Hand-tufted in 100 percent wool, it comes in 5 × 8, 6 × 9 and 8 × 10 ft, and is currently reduced from its full price.
Tufted in Bhadohi with loop pile and cut pile worked side by side. The loops are made with one tufting gun and the cut pile with another, and each coil of a spiral is worked in a single continuous pass so the rope never breaks. The rug is then brushed to lift the loops.

Crafted by the weavers of Bhadohi
Bhadohi and neighbouring Mirzapur, on the Ganges plain between Varanasi and Prayagraj, form India's largest hand-knotting region, and the Bhadohi hand-made carpet carries a geographical indication. Most rugs are knotted in weaving families' homes on upright looms, then brought to town to be washed, clipped and finished.
