Harvest Kilim Runner carries a chain of diamonds in crimson, saffron gold and sage green along its full length, woven flat in wool. Runners are the most useful shape for halls, landings and galley kitchens, and a flatweave is easy to vacuum and never catches the edge of a door. The warm palette brightens a dark corridor without showing every footprint. It comes in four lengths from 2½ × 6 ft to 2½ × 12 ft, so you can match it to the length of your hall and leave a margin of bare floor of about a foot at each end.
Woven around Konya on narrow looms kept for runners. A long kilim is woven in one piece: the weaver rolls the finished part around the lower beam of the loom as the work moves up, so the whole runner is only seen once it is cut from the loom and unrolled on the floor.
