Himalaya Tonal

Himalaya Tonal is a patchwork of rosewood, blush pink and sand panels, each carrying a faint traditional pattern washed back to a soft, faded surface. The effect is calm and warm rather than busy, like a stack of old rugs seen from above. It is hand-knotted at 100 knots per square inch in Himalayan wool, which is naturally rich in lanolin and feels soft and springy underfoot. The muted palette sits well with both antiques and modern furniture. It comes in four sizes from 5 × 8 ft up to 9 × 12 ft, for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms.

Knotted in Kathmandu with the Tibetan loop technique: the yarn is looped around a metal rod along the row, and the loops are cut when the rod is pulled out. The method came to Nepal with Tibetan weavers in the 1960s and is still how most rugs in the Kathmandu valley are made.

In India: dispatched in 2–4 working days and delivered by courier in 3–5 days. Delivery is free on orders over ₹20,000. Cash on delivery is available on orders up to ₹1,00,000: pay 25% online when you order and the rest to the courier.

Every hand-knotted rug comes with a certificate of authenticity that records its design, size, materials, where it was woven and its knot count: 100 knots per square inch.

Hand-knotted rugs are made one at a time, so the size, the colour and the edges can differ slightly from the photographs. That is the mark of the hand, not a fault.
