Berber Stripe has an olive-green ground crossed by cream zigzags and bands of chocolate brown, in the manner of the flat-woven rugs of Morocco's Atlas mountains. It is woven from 60 percent wool and 40 percent jute, which gives it a firm, slightly rustic handle and a natural, nubbly texture. It lies flat, so it fits under doors and dining chairs, and the earthy palette sits well with cane, linen and terracotta. It suits a living room, a bedroom or a dining room, and it comes in 4 × 6, 5 × 8 and 8 × 10 ft.
Woven near Jaipur on handlooms. The jute is spun from Bengal fibre and woven together with wool in the same weft, which stops the rug sliding on a hard floor and adds the earthy colour between the stripes. The ends are finished with a short knotted fringe rather than a bound edge.

Crafted by the weavers of Jaipur
Jaipur has made rugs since the nineteenth century, when carpet workshops were set up in the city's jail. The villages around it now knot heavy village designs and weave cotton dhurries on pit looms, and the town's dyers and finishing yards give rugs their strong colours or their softened, washed look.
