Persian Garden Tufted takes the tree of life, a motif found on Persian carpets for centuries, and makes it bright and easy to live with: a spreading tree with rust and ivory flowers and small birds on an aqua-teal field. It is hand-tufted in wool, which keeps the price well below a knotted rug while giving a soft, dense pile. The design has a clear top and bottom, so it looks best facing a sofa or at the foot of a bed. It suits a living room, a bedroom or a dining room, and it comes in three rectangles and a 6 ft round.
Tufted in Bhadohi from a Persian drawing redrawn for the tufting gun, with the smallest details enlarged so they hold in a tufted pile. Tufting lets a traditional design be made at a fraction of the cost of knotting, and the Bhadohi workshops often make both kinds of rug side by side in the same yard.

Crafted by the weavers of Bhadohi
Bhadohi and neighbouring Mirzapur, on the Ganges plain between Varanasi and Prayagraj, form India's largest hand-knotting region, and the Bhadohi hand-made carpet carries a geographical indication. Most rugs are knotted in weaving families' homes on upright looms, then brought to town to be washed, clipped and finished.
